Hello.
School has started again .... yay :/ Going into year 11 wasn't nearly as scary as opening my maths GCSE result (i got an A*  :D), but then again, this is 'The Year It Gets Real!'.
or serious as sow said but its always been serious we just never took it seriously but this year is no joke.
Serious aside                                                                                             (haha get it) I've just come back from a house warming party, soooooo boring! im gonna make sure that all of my future house warming parties are fun and exciting (dont just involve talking to complete strangers) or I just won't have a house warming party and invite my closest friends and family....

wikipedia says: a house warming party is held within the first 90 days of a resident moving into a new house.
ahhh, the most important part of the party is the gifts given by guests to furnish the house :P

reading on you find that the origins of housewarming is quite literal. In the olddddd days, when a person moved house there would literally be a housewarming, in which friends and family would bring firewood and add it to the fireplace, this would not only warm the house but was believed to scare of evil spirits. awesome.

haha, wikipedia is hilarious! there's even a list for the variation of housewarming parties :P
but im not going to dwell into that, for in fact i am blogging for my new found love for baking! :D

I have always loved baking but today I have reached a new peak in my baking for i made something completely on my own :D Having been inspired by this weeks episode 'The Great British Bake off' i decided to make some meringues, sure they were sweet and simple but for someone who rarely bakes or has a skill for following recipes i think i did exceptionally well (especially with separating the white frrom the yellow when cracking the egg).
At first i was worried because having taken out the meringues and tasted one it wasnt that nice chewy consistency that i was after and so i concluded that i had burnt them (if thats possible) but then after adding whipped cream and leaving them to cool they became as chewy as well.... a meringue is meant to be :P

YUM!

I should be back with my next baking adventure.
